Frequently Asked Questions
What is health and wellness coaching exactly?
Health and wellness coaching is an exciting portion of health care that focuses on an overall wellness vision. This can include anything you want (most commonly stress reduction, food/water intake/exercise). H&W coaching has also been shown to be preventative against common diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and more; and can sometimes reduce symptoms of said diseases.
We’ll meet for regular sessions while you work towards your goals. I’ll be there for you every step of the way.
I am not here to simply tell you what to do or do all the talking, this really is a collaborative process where you get to be in control of your health and wellness journey!
What does a typical session look like?
For our first session, we’ll discuss your wellness vision and dive deep into what it means to you. We’ll talk about your background, motivators, strengths, and more. Finally, we’ll set goals in whatever areas of life you want to focus on.
For subsequent sessions, we’ll review your goals from the week before, discuss challenges that may have come up, do some brainstorming and set goals for the next week. These goals can be brand new or they can be continuations of the week prior.
Can I prescribe?
I cannot prescribe medications, nor can I give advice in regards to them. I cannot treat as a dietician, but I can help find a food plan that works best for you. I am here to listen and help facilitate lasting change, but I can send referrals to specialists as needed.
Do I accept insurance?
At this moment, I do not accept insurance. There is a separate certification needed in order to accept insurance (which I am working towards currently). Insurance approval is very new for health and wellness coaching, so we are hoping for a final approval this year for Medicare and commercial insurances!
Am I LGBTQ+ friendly?
Of course! I welcome everyone into my sessions and I am proud to serve clients from the LGBTQ+ community!
